(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Wednesday, 05 November 2025) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Typhoon "TINO" {KALMAEGI} was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Taytay, Palawan (11.1°N, 119.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 165 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Light to Moderate rains are expected over #TawiTawi(TurtleIslands), #ZamboangaDelNorte, #ZamboangaSibugay(Payao, Imelda and Malangas) within the next 2-3 hours. Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are being experienced in #TawiTawi(Mapun), #Sulu(Pangutaran), #ZamboangaSibugay(Alicia, Mabuhay, Talusan and Olutanga) which may persist within 2-3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

Training on vegetable, onion production kicks off in PDI

Envisioning to make Caraga Region a sustainable supplier of high quality, safe, fresh and processed vegetables, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga expanded its reach in teaching the right technology to include not just the farmers but its personnel and the local government unit as partners/stakeholders.

With this, a two-day training on Lowland Vegetable Production and Bulb Onion Production was conducted at RAFTITTI, Inc., Cuarinta, San Jose, Province of Dinagat Islands on September 7 to 8, 2023.

Romer Sarceda Amante, vegetable coordinator of DA-Caraga said that the activity aimed to transfer the technical knowledge and capacitate DA’s workforce for the sustainable development of the vegetable industry in the region.

Twenty-five (technical staff from the Operations Division including Special Projects specifically 4K and SAAD, two from the Provincial Agriculture Office of Dinagat Islands and six representatives from the different municipalities in the island province participated in the training.

Equipped with the knowledge and skills, the trained staff can now augment in the tasks of cascading new farming technologies to the farmers. (DA-Caraga/PIA-PDI)
