By Renelle L. Escuadro

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Regional Office 13 conducted the closing ceremony of the 3rd batch of the Revitalized- Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) training on September 22, 2023 at Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City.

The R-PSB is a program of the Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support (PLEDS) cluster that was designed to support Executive Order No. 70 or National Task Force to End Local Terrorist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

PMGen. Harold Tuzon, deputy commander of Area Police Command-Eastern Mindanao, reminded the cadre graduates and stakeholders on the objectives of the Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) program stating, " The R-PSB is designed to sustain the gains of focused military operations and community engagement in insurgency-cleared barangays; isolate unaffected barangays from communist terrorist group (CTG) recruitment and threat; facilitate the delivery of development programs in the target barangays; establish counter-argument and measures on issues raised and claimed by the CTGs and empower these conflict-free barangays to be resilient communities," in his speech as guest of honor and speaker.

PCol. James Goforth of  the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Regional Office 13, declared the 570 cadres who successfully graduated in the three-month training program and were officially turned over to their respective city/provincial police stations for 100% deployment to 336 target barangays under the Barangay Development Program in Caraga region.

The said activity also highlighted the ceremonial signing of the Pledge of Commitment of the members of the PLEDS cluster and stakeholders to fully support the campaign plan TINABANGAY of the PNP, with high trust that R-PSB will serve as an effective agent in the development of the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAS), and all barangays of the region will be  safe and conflict-resilient areas.
