P4M IP cultural center to rise in Tagbina
TAGBNA, Surigao del Sur -- The Manobo and Mandaya tribal leaders of Tagbina and Hinatuan, all in Surigao del Sur convened to discuss the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn (PAMANA) Community Driven Development Program for Indigenous Peoples (IP-CDD) Project Implementation Cycle 1, held at Mayors Office in Tagbina town on Monday, August 7, 2023.
Based on the report, the tribal leaders unanimously approved the construction
of the said sub-project with a total cost of P4.2 million, which will be
located at the municipal government site in Tagbina.
KALAHI-Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga Deputy
Regional Program Manager, Esterlita Villamor emphasized that the sub-project
will serve as a venue for the tribal communities for their capability
development activities, rituals, and ancestral domain management office for
Mandaya and Manobo Tribe.
Under the leadership of Mayor Glaiza Jane Polizon Lanete, no sector will be
left behind and the community of IPs will be given priority in receiving better
and higher-quality services from the local government unit.
PAMANA Project is a government program that aims to improve
peace-building, reconstruction, and development in conflict-affected areas.
The ancestral domain assembly was presided by Hawudon Nelbert Sahay, and
attended by DSWD Caraga RPMO officials; NCIP Provincial Director, Engr. Charlyn
Binghoy; MSWDO of Hinatuan; tribal leaders; chieftains and barangay officials,
and the members of the area/municipal coordinating teams of KALAHI-CIDSS-Tagbina.
