SurSur livestock raisers receive imported dairy cattle 

HINATUAN, Surigao del Sur -- The provincial government of Surigao del Sur under the leadership of Governor Alexander T. Pimentel, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG) recently assisted in the dispersal of the first batch of dairy cattle from the Department of Agriculture - National Dairy Authority (NDA) for the livestock raisers of Surigao del Sur.

Some 67 Holstein-Jersey dairy cattle from Australia were allotted to 20 qualified livestock raisers of Hinatuan town which is located in the 2nd district of the said province.

"The members of Maligaya Corn Farmers Association from barangays Maligaya, Tagasaka, Bitoon, and Pocto of Hinatuan were the recipients of the dairy cattle," OPAg chief Marcos Quico confirmed.

Meanwhile, the dispersal of the dairy cattle and the provision of technical services for individual or group of farmers are the primary programs of the DA-NDA. (Grace Barcena/OPAg/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
