PRO13 sends off rookie cops for field training in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY -- Police Regional Office (PRO)13 formally sent off 297 rookie cops who will undergo the Field Training Program in a ceremony held on June 2  at the Regional Training Center 13 in Barangay Lipata, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

PBGen. Roderick D. Mariano, PRO13 deputy regional director for Administration and Chairman of the Regional Training Committee attended the send-off ceremony with PLTCol. Rhandy O. Amaro, officer-in-charge of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division (RLDDD)13.

A total of 218 males and 79 females of the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) Class 2022-01 will be distributed to city police stations in Butuan, Surigao, and Cabadbaran.

“They will have on-the-job training on patrol, traffic, and investigation under the supervision of their respective field training officers (FTOs) for six months,” Police Regional Office (PRO)13 Director,  PBGen. Pablo G. Labra II disclosed.

Citing the record from RLDDD13, 58 patrolmen and patrolwomen will be deployed to Butuan City Police Station (BCPS)1, 30 to BCPS2, 30 to BCPS3, 30 to BCPS4, 30 to Cabadbaran City Police Station, and 119 to Surigao City Police Station.

A total of 80 FTOs were detailed to closely supervise, guide, and teach the newly appointed police non-commissioned officers (NAPNCOs) in the region. Eight FTOs shall be assigned to one dormitory.

“At the end of the training, they will be equipped with the skills and capabilities that will eventually make them police officers of the highest caliber. We will monitor them to ensure we have a generation of PNP personnel who are more disciplined,” RD Labra II added.

The NAPNCOs completed their basic recruit course on May 27, 2023, and underwent a five-day orientation program. (PMaj Jennifer S. Ometer, PIO, PRO 13/PIA Caraga)
