23IB, TESDA AgNor conduct community based training for POs

BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte – The 23rd Infantry “Masigasig” Battalion (23IB) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Agusan del Norte conducted a three-day Community Based Training (CBT) in Bread Making leading to Bread and Pastry Production to the members of the People's Oragnizations (PO) in Sitio Antipolo Brgy. Simbalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte on March 8 to 10, 2023.

A total of 25 participants of Sitio Antipolo Farmers Association of Buenavista, Agusan del Norte Incorporated (SAFABAI). This intervention was conducted by the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) under the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster in sustaining durable peace and sustainable development in the province of Agusan del Norte.

The training which was organized organized by the Community Support Program (CSP) teams of the 23IB benefitted the former rebels (FRs) and the members of the underground mass base supporters (CAMOs). These groups underwent reorganization and are now registered under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Cooperative Development Auhority (CDA) as People's Organizations.

Various partner stakeholders, mainly government line agencies through livelihood programs, have helped People's Organizations that were initially created and managed by the 23IB formed. These Indigenous Peoples, former rebels, and former members of the communist-terrorist groups (CTG's) underground mass organizations (UGMOs) who chose to reject the CTG and are now supporting the government make up these POs. As a result, these POs joined the comprehensive structure of local defense against communist terrorist organizations. (23rd Infantry Battalion, PA/PIA Agusan del Norte)
