(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Tuesday, 15 July 2025) The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Mindanao. FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

CCAUSE TWG meeting discusses environment-related concern in SurSur

LIANGA, Surigao del Sur -- The members of the Coastal Communities Alliance Unified for Sustainable Ecosystem (CCAUSE) Technical Working Group (TWG) successfully recently conducted its First Quarter Meeting in Lianga, Surigao del Sur to discuss the environment-related concern.

As a recommendatory body of the alliance, the TWG plays a critical role in the alliance mandate to conserve, manage and protect contiguous coastal habitats and fishery straddled from Hinatuan-Bislig bays (South of Surigao del Sur) and Lianga Bay areas (Northern part). 

During the conference, the participants of the CCAUSE TWG amplified recommendation that is imperative to the decision-making of the Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and the entire bay-wide management council.

The discussions included the continuous undertakings on the harmonization process of some provisions of the  municipal fishery ordinances, activities on environmental-related advocacy programs such as "Earth Day", ocean celebrations campaigns such as World Oceans Day, Coral Triangle Day and others. The habitat management enhancement activities such as the proposed scallop sanctuary and training activity for citizens science on reef monitoring also tackled. 

The CCAUSE TWG is well represented by one city and nine (9) municipalities in Surigao del Sur namely, 

1.    Lingig, 

2.    Bislig, 

3.    Hinatuan, 

4.    Barobo, 

5.    Lianga, 

6.    San Agustin, 

7.    Marihatag, 

8.    Cagwait, 

9.    Bayabas, and 

10. Tago
