Carrascal farmers avail of FDV from DA
CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sur -- A total of 424 smallholder farmers tilling a minimum of 0.25 hectares to a maximum of 2 hectares received fertilizer discount vouchers, as the Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga rolled out the FDV distribution to rice farmers of Carrascal town today, February 8, 2023.
All beneficiaries are registered to the Registry System For Basic Sector in
Agriculture (RSBA).
The farmers received vouchers valued from P1,650 to P6,600 to purchase urea
fertilizer (46-0-0) from the accredited fertilizer merchants in the area.
The activity aims to ensure the timely availability of the needed fertilizer
for rice production. The voucher received by the farmers will be utilized in
acquiring urea fertilizer to bolster rice production and ensure food security.
DA-Agricultural Program Coordinating Office of Surigao del Sur headed by June
Anthony Ouano, with the LGU officials headed by the supportive Mayor Vicente H.
Pimentel III, and Vice Mayor Jessie James T. Valle, Municipal Agriculturist
Japhet C. Sugian and Sangguniang Bayan Member Servando Cuajao led the
