PDEA, PNP seize nearly half a million pesos worth of shabu in Butuan
BUTUAN CITY -- A 39-year-old mechanic was caught red handed in selling shabu to an undercover drug enforcement agent in the evening of January 11, 2023 at Purok 5, Barangay Tandang Sora, Butuan City in a joint anti-drug operation conducted by the combined forces of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Caraga, Dinagat Islands Provincial Office (DI PO), PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), and Butuan City Police Station 1.
The operating team was able to confiscate one (1) knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing shabu weighing more or less 60 grams with an estimated street value of more than P400,000 from the suspect identified as Birch Silong Moras who is also a resident of the above-mentioned address.
The buy-bust money was recovered from the possession of the suspect while the cellular phone used in his illegal drug transactions was also seized by the operating team and was made part of the inventory of evidence.
The suspect is temporarily detained at PDEA Caraga Regional OfficeI custodial facility for proper disposition. (PDEA-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
