NNC Caraga, partners recognize NSOA graduates in Siargao town

BUTUAN CITY – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Caraga recognized the Nutrition School On-the-Air (NSOA) graduates on October 27, 2022 at Surigao del Norte State University – Del Carmen Campus in Del Carmen, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.

This was in time with the closing ceremony of the Training on Nutriskwela (Nutrisyon Eskwela) Community Radio Broadcasting initiated by the NNC with resource persons from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga, Radyo Pilipinas Butuan, Provincial Public Information Office (PPIO) of Agusan del Sur, and personnel from Radyo Kaagapay in Sibagat, Agusan del Sur; Radyo Kabakhawan in Del Carmen, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte; and Radyo Kinaiyahan in Malimono, Surigao del Norte.

The NSOA graduates composed of barangay nutrition scholars and barangay health workers have completed the learning sessions on nutrition, and are now equipped to do their part as nutrition advocates in their respective barangays. 

Dr. Romy Jun Sunico, president of Surigao del Norte State University-Del Carmen Campus, encouraged all the NSOA graduates to share to their peers all the significant learnings they gained on health and nutrition, and be good examples of what they preach to the communities. 

The twenty-five (25) NSOA graduates also vowed to support the nutrition programs and services of the government agencies and local government unit of Del Carmen, as well as promote proper nutrition with emphasis on the 10 Kumainments to every family in their community.

dxNG-FM 97.7 Radyo Kabakhawan of Del Carmen also expressed their interest to constantly support the NSOA advocates in their information dissemination efforts and initiatives. 

The graduates received their certificate of participation, T-shirts, load prizes for the top 10 scorers of the quizzes given every after session and a pouch bag for the honor students.
