SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- In its bid for a secure port operation especially during serious security threats, the Port Management Office (PMO) of Surigao recently conducted a simulated bomb-threat security drill at the Port of Surigao.

The exercise aimed at demonstrating strategic decisive actions in resolving the threat of a possible bomb explosion, is also expected to aid in the formulation of bomb explosion management policies, integration, and orchestration of government and public efforts to resolve the crisis.

Aside from PMO Surigao personnel, participants of the activity also include representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard K9 Unit, Surigao City Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Provincial Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Canine Unit, CDRRMO, and Globalport Surigao Terminals, Inc.
