SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, -- To better prepare authorities on how to respond in case of a bomb explosion, the Port Management Office of Surigao conducted a simulated security drill at the Port of Surigao on October 27, 2022.

The said activity is in coordination with Philippine Coast Guard  K9 Unit, Surigao City PNP, BFP, Provincial EOD and Canine Unit, CDRRMO and Globalport Surigao Terminals Inc.

According to PMO Surigao Acting Port Manager Froilan Caturla, the simulated exercise aims to demonstrate strategic decisive actions to resolve  bomb explosion crisis with the end view of aiding the formulation of bomb explosion management policies, integration, and orchestration of government and public efforts to resolve the crisis.

In said simulated exercise, the seat of explosion was isolated, while the circumstances at the bomb explosion crisis area were stabilized.

Participating agencies identified their roles, for instance, who will provide needed manpower, and discussed what would be the participation of every stakeholder in the given scenario. (PMO- Surigao/PIA- Surigao del Norte)
