(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Monday, 08 December 2025) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "WILMA" was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Matuguinao, Samar (12.2°N 125.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

DTI completes “Buy Local” advocacy to 10 LGUs in SurSur

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Trade and Industry - Surigao del Sur (DTI-SDS) Provincial Office completed the advocacy to the targeted 10 local governments of the province for the “Buy Local” Initiative by the agency.

The advocacy was initially conducted during the Sangguniang Panglungsod  Session of Tandag City on July 20, 2022.

The same activity  was conducted in the City of Bislig, and municipalities of Cortes, Cantilan, Hinatuan, Carrascal, Barobo, Madrid, Cagwait, and San Agustin all of this province.

As of date, the cities of Tandag and Bislig and the municipalities of Carrascal, Hinatuan, and Cantilan have passed a resolution supporting the program.

DTI Surigao del Sur will be coordinating with the  rest of the Local Chief Executives  of the remaining lgus for the issuance of  the Executive Order supporting the advocacy.

Meanwhile, the Buy Local is an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry to campaign for the support of the local government units to their respective local micro-enterprises. This involves allocating 10% of their procurement of goods to local products, using them as a token for their guests/visitors, setting up a display booth in their respective offices, and mounting trade exhibits during any of their events.
