(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Wednesday, 04 October 2023) At 3:00 AM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "JENNY" {KOINU} was estimated based on all available data at 275 km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (21.9°N, 124.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 185 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 10 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas. Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon / Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds coming from South to Southwest will prevail with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters).

Surigao Norte police nets 7 most wanted persons during SACLEO

BUTUAN CITY -- Police authorities in Surigao del Norte apprehended the seven most wanted persons and counted a total of 41 other individuals during the intensified Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) on August 30, 2022. 

Provincial Director Renato C. Mercado of the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO) reported that operatives arrested seven most wanted persons (MWPs), 35 other wanted persons (OWP), five individuals caught  in illegal drugs, and one engaged in illegal fishing.

The arrested seven MWPs comprised of two MWPs in the regional level and five in the provincial level. 

Meanwhile, operatives confiscated 3.7317 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu" with a standard drug price (SDP) of PhP25,376.28.

A motor banca valued at PhP10,000 and a 16 HP King Eagle motor engine were seized during the apprehension of the individual engaged in illegal fishing. 

“I applaud our troops for their commitment and dedication, which occurred in the successful conduct of a one-day SACLEO that resulted in the arrest of these law offenders.
