1,303 PWDs in Butuan avail of DOLE’s TUPAD

BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Labor and Employment Agusan del Norte Field Office (DOLE ADNFO) facilitated the total payout of P6,840,750.00 to some 1,303 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Barangay Doongan Covered Court, this city.

The beneficiaries with physical and psychosocial disabilities, speech, language, hearing impairment, visual and mental disabilities received P5,250.00 each as salaries for their temporary employment through the Department’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program.

The PWD-beneficiaries were involved in community-based activities such as the clean-up and disinfection of public places.

The activity is in line with the post celebration of the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week from  July 17 to 23, 2022 with the theme “Pamahalaan kabalikat sa Pagtupad ng Pantay na Edukasyon, Trabaho at Kabuhayan, tugon sa Pagpapalakas ng Taong May Kapansanan”.

Consistent with its mission to provide equal employment opportunities for all, DOLE Caraga lauded the participation of PWDs in the economic activity of the country through the TUPAD program despite their disabilities. (DOLE-Caraga)
