The event was highlighted by the Virtual 2022 Gawad Parangal Para sa Natatanging Linemen and Short Webinar facilitated by PHILRECA. The Workshop on Linemen Appreciation and Customer Service Protocol, followed by the Awarding Ceremony spearheaded by SURSECO was also conducted on the same day.

Meanwhile, the linemen received surprise appreciation from their loved ones that boosted their morale and motivated them to continue and love their work.

The “Linemen Appreciation Day” is an activity spearheaded by the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA), in recognition of all the linemen working in the electric distribution utility sector.

To recall, PHILRECA filed a bill in Congress last August 2020 entitled House Bill 472, or an “Act Proclaiming the First Monday of August of Every Year as Linemen Appreciation Day”. (PIA-Surigao del Sur)
