(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Tuesday, 25 November 2025) At 3:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "VERBENA" was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Cuyo, Palawan (10.8°N, 120.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 25 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Northern Luzon. CARAGA will have rains with gusty winds caused by TD Verbena. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds. Rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TD VERBENA. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. Moderate winds from northwest to southwest prevails on the rest of Mindanao, with moderate seas (1.5 to 2.5 meters).

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte (PIA) -- The Department of Science and Technology – Surigao del Norte conducted a Virtual Technology Training on Metal Fabrication and Cost Estimation for Machining Jobs for the micro, small, and medium enterprises in the metals and engineering sector of the province in partnership with the DOST-Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC) on July 27, 2022 via Zoom.

The technology training was conducted to further improve the knowledge and skills of the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) -assisted firms on metal fabrication and cost estimation and gain an in-depth understanding for those who are exploring for business opportunities in the metals and engineering industry. 

During the training, Engr. Jose D. Berces III, Production Estimator II from DOST-MIRDC discussed the proper cost estimation for machining jobs — from factors to consider, basic steps in cost estimation, cost elements, down to the computation of machining and labor cost, among others.

The training was attended by technology-based enterprises assisted through SETUP namely SRS Industrial Trading, Sunexo Industrial Resources, Ever Machine Shop, Alpha Kairos Omega (ALKO) Engineering and Metal Works, Arriba Steel Industries, RSY Multi Trade Shop, 4JC Electrical and Machining Services, and REV-ANN Iron Works. 

Researchers from the Surigao del Norte State University – Surigao City Campus also joined the said training.
