DA Caraga turns over farm machineries to farmers associations in Dinagat Islands

SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands -- The Department of Agriculture - Caraga Regional Executive Director Ricardo M. OΓ±ate, Jr. recently handed the certificate of turn-over of machinery to farmers associations and cooperatives in Dinagat Islands.

The intervention is part of the Department’s Farm Mechanization Program to boost farmers' income through the help of modernized technology. This is part of the P41.66 million agri-support allocated to the province.

Present during the turn-over were Provincial Governor Nilo P. Demerey, Jr., OIC-Provincial Agriculturist Rico Galinato and Agricultural Program Coordination Office Chief - Dinagat Islands Rey Frias.

The beneficiaries of the said rice and corn machineries are the Upper Laguna Corn Farmers Association (Cagdianao); Panaad Farmers Association (Basilisa); Malian Integrated Sustainable Farmers Association (Tubajon); Montag Farmers Association (Basilisa); Cabunga-an Mabungahon Farmers Association (Cagdianao);
