Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to north prevails over the eastern section with moderate to rough seas (2.1 to 3.5 meters). DTI organizes coffee stakeholders in SurSur

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Trade and Industry-Surigao del Sur (DTI-SDS) Provincial Office successfully organized the Provincial Coffee Industry Development Council (PCIDC) in Surigao del Sur participated by the 33 coffee stakeholders earlier this month in Mangagoy, Bislig City.

The said activity was attended by the partners from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), and Municipal Agriculturist Offices (MAO) who pledged full support to the newly-organized council.

The activity highlighted the importance and role of PCIDC in laying down the vision to become the leading coffee province in Caraga region.

To make the council functional, they have elected a set of officers who will  lead the organization as follows:
● Chairperson: Mr. Rogelio Olbes Jr.
● Vice-Chairperson: Mr. Leonardo Evangelista
 
● Secretary:  DTI Surigao del Sur
 
● Treasurer: Ms. Percila Caballo
 
● Auditor: Mr. Macarlito Pandan
 
● PIOs:  Mr. Louie Feliscuzo
             
Mr. Carmelito Pilapil

Furthermore, a representative from each value chain segment was identified for a more effective data gathering and monitoring of industry issues.

The Provincial Coffee Industry Development Council (PCIDC) was created to serve as a functional committee, established to respond  and to integrate the needs and plans of the stakeholders of the local coffee industry.
