(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

ASSCAT Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit now officially activated 

PROSPERIDAD, AGUSAN DEL SUR - The Agusan del Sur College of Agriculture and Technology – Reserve Officer Training Corps (ASSCAT ROTC) Unit in San Teodoro, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur which was formerly affiliated to Philippine Normal University Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (PNU ROTCU) in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur is now officially activated following the Activation Ceremony held on 28 June 2022.

This was facilitated by the 1502nd Community Defense Center (CDC), 15th Regional Community Defense Group (15RCDG), Reserve Command (RESCOM), Philippine Army, pursuant to General Orders Number 669 dated 21 April 2022 from General Headquarters Armed Forces of the Philippines.

 

Colonel Diosdado E Peji, Group Commander of 15RCDG was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the said Ceremony. In his message, he congratulated the College President, Dr. Joy Capistrano, who also graced the said event for the achievement. Colonel Peji also emphasized the importance of ROTC in molding the youth to become productive citizens. 

 

Dr. Capistrano expressed her gratitude and excitement for the activation of the ROTC Unit in the school which they waited for a long time. 

 

Meanwhile, Major Jerome G Waclin, Director of 1502 CDC and concurrent Commandant of the said newly activated ROTC Unit also expressed his gratitude to Major Marlon L Bagara, the former 1502 CDC Director and Commandant of ASSCAT ROTCU who exerted effort for the issuance of Activation Order of the said ROTC Unit.

 

The ASSCAT ROTCU will be placed under the administrative supervision of 1502nd Community Defense Center, 15th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army. (2Lt Adones L Apilada (INF) PA, Executive Officer, 1502 CDC/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
