BUTUAN CITY -- The 1501st Community Defense Center (CDC) under the 15th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG) recognized some 96 individuals of the Corps of Professors in Agusan del Norte, who successfully completed the six-day orientation as part of the Basic Citizen Military Training held on April 23, 2022 at Butuan Central Elementary School, this city.

The orientation aims to introduce and educate the reservist candidates with the basics of soldiery as the regular force. The participants of the orientation were expected to learn the fundamental subjects in the military such as the Republic Act 7077, otherwise known as “The Citizen AFP Reservist Act”, Military Courtesy and Discipline, AFP Organization, Customs and Traditions, Basic Marksmanship and other pertinent basic military subjects.

The class also underwent Field Training Exercise (FTX) at Camp Romualdo Rubi, Bancasi, to assess and apply the theories they gained during their classroom lectures.

During the said event, Colonel Michele Anayron, assistant division commander for Reservist and Retirees Affairs of 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, served as guest of honor and speaker.

In his message, Col Anayron congratulated the graduates and highlighted the vital role of the Corps of Professor in contributing to the campaign in ending local communists armed conflict by preventing the recruitment of the communist-terrorist group among the education sector.

“Congratulations to all the graduates of this class, and let us be a force multiplier to our regular force in peacebuilding and conflict,” said Anayron.

The newly graduates have been donned with the rank of Private in the Reserve Force and will become part of the Ready Reserve Unit who will sincerely render their service to our nation through volunteerism. (Maj Frances S. Belarmino, 1501st CDC, 15RCDG/PIA-Caraga)
