(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Caraga GAD advocates to participate in capacity development, workshop on Women, Peace and Security

BUTUAN CITY -- The Gender and Development (GAD) advocates from various government agencies in Caraga region will be participating in the scheduled Capacity Development and Workshop on Women, Peace and Security on April 25-29, 2022 at La Entrada Resort, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

This activity is spearheaded by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), in partnership with the Regional Development Council – Regional Gender and Development Committee (RDC-RGADC) Caraga.

According to Atty. Aurora Luanne Cembrano-Ramos, acting chairperson of RDC-RGADC and officer-in-charge of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Caraga, part of the capacity objectives is to capacitate GAD focal persons on conflict sensitivity, peacebuilding approaches, and gender-based violence during emergencies and the integration of agency actions relating to women, peace, and security into the agency’s GAD plan and budget.

“During this event, there will be break-out sessions for the participants to discuss the following topics: Six-Point Peace Development Agenda of the current administration; Security and Peace and Order Situation; Impact of Conflicts to Women and their Families; Conflict Sensitivity and Peacebuilding Approaches; Women, Peace and Security and Gender-Based Violence in Emergency; and the Role of CHR as the Gender Ombud and GBV Mapping Results,” said Atty. Ramos.

She added that during the workshop, the participating GAD focals/advocates will formulate the Agency Specific Action Plan on WPS, and integrate it in the GAD Plan and Budget. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
