It is moving West Northwestward at 25 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Northern Luzon. CARAGA will have rains with gusty winds caused by TD Verbena. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds. Rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TD VERBENA. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. Moderate winds from northwest to southwest prevails on the rest of Mindanao, with moderate seas (1.5 to 2.5 meters).

DSWD Caraga joins 2022 National Women’s Month kick-off celebration

BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga joined the rest of the nation in the observance of the 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with the theme, “We Make Change Work For Women” and sub-theme, “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran.”

To officially begin the month-long celebration, a purple motorcade within Butuan City proper was conducted, followed by a regional kick-off ceremony which took place at the Philippine Science High School Gymnasium, Tiniwisan, Butuan City.

The said activities were participated by different government and non-government organizations, partner-stakeholders, the private sector, and members from the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) including DSWD, which was represented by Gender And Development Focal Person and Protective Services Chief, Jessie Catherine Aranas.

DSWD-Caraga regional director Ramel Jamen shared that the NWMC 2022 highlighted the numerous achievements of women and girls in the community, emphasizing women as active contributors to today’s societal development.

The ceremony ended with the One Billion Rising Advocacy Dance to signify everyone’s commitment to continue promoting actions towards gender equality and women empowerment. (DSWD-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
