30 couples in Surigao Norte town tie knot during Kasalan ng Bayan
TAGANA-AN, Surigao del Norte -- In celebration of the 32nd Civil Registration Month and Valentine's Day, the local government unit of Tagana-an in Surigao del Norte has sponsored the Kasalan ng Bayan 2022, wherein 30 couples were solemnized by Mayor Cesar Diaz, Jr. on February 14 at Municipal Gymnasium.
The mass wedding was attended by PSA chief statistical specialist Guillermo Lipio, Jr. and all Sangguniang Bayan Members.
The event aimed to help couples to be legally bound together and support the wellbeing of families especially the destitute ones. Only the couples and the sponsors were allowed to attend the wedding in accordance with the minimum health protocols for COVID-19. Attendees were also strictly observing safety protocols, as assured by Hilda Beberino, the local civil registrar.
“I am a firm believer of marriage as an institution. I am looking forward to these 30 couples whose hearts found one another and the courage they have to commit and surrender in each other’s arms,” said Lipio.
Couples also sliced their wedding cakes and made a toast in celebration of their legal union. The event was concluded by the photo opportunities for their wedding souvenir. (LGU-Tagana-an/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
