It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

PRRD to inaugurate Siargao’s Sports and Tourism Complex; 3-Point Bridge System

BUTUAN CITY -- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to grace the inauguration of the new Siargao Island Sports and Tourism Complex (SISTC) and Catangnan-Cabitoonan Bridge (3-Point Bridge System) on November 6, 2021 in Barangay Osmeña, Dapa, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.

 

At the arrival of the President, he will lead the conduct of aerial inspection of the newly-passable bridge, followed by the unveiling of the marker at the Sports and Tourism Complex, and the inspection of the swimming pool facilities.

 


Local officials in the province of Surigao del Norte led by Governor Francisco Matugas, together with District 1 Representative Francisco Jose Matugas II and others will join the president in the said event.

 

Also, Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, together with Secretary Roger Mercado of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Governor Matugas, and Rep. Matugas will join President Duterte during the ceremonial unveiling of the marker of the Catangnan-Cabitoonan Bridge.

 

This infrastructure aims to provide support to the potential tourist destinations, an alternate route from Dapa Port to Barangay Catangnan via Barangay Cabitoonan. It also enhances the accessibility and mobility of tourists/people, goods and services in the country’s world-renowned surfing capital. 

 

The provincial government of Surigao del Norte emphasized that all guests, including the invited media who will be attending and covering the event shall present their RT-PCR Test result and complete the RTD/ antigen procedure at the triage tent installed at the venue. 


Some 350 individuals composed of national, regional and local government officials and invited guests are expected to participate in the said event.



The following safety protocols shall be implemented at the venue: 1) Wearing of face mask and face shield at all times; 2) Undergoing mandatory medical triage procedure and rapid test; 3) Undertake disinfection process (for hands and equipment); and 4) Observe social physical distancing.
