AgNor SP approves IP Code 

BUTUAN CITY -- The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of the province of Agusan del Norte during its 111th regular session held recently has approved on 3rd and final reading the Provincial Ordinance No. 601-2021, presided by Vice Governor Ramon Bungabong.

The Provincial Ordinance No. 601-2021 entitled “The Agusan del Norte Indigenous Peoples Comprehensive Welfare and Development Code, Appropriating Funds Thereof and for Other Purposes,” was authored by Vice Gov. Bungabong with co-authors Provincial Board Members Eddie “Datu Bawang” S. Ampiyawan, chairman of the Committee on Indigenous Peoples Concern, and members Provincial Board Members Dick Victor B. Carmona and Virgilio R. EscasiΓ±as, Jr.

Among the items included in the Indigenous Peoples (IP) Code are the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of the IPs.

It is a priority legislative measure of Vice Gov. Bungabong when he assumed office as vice governor. (LGU Agusan del Norte/PIA Agusan del Norte)
