Possible landslides or flashfloods due to moderate to at times heavy rains. Rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Easterlies. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters).

DA-BFAR Caraga joins fishery forum in Surigao City

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte – The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) Caraga joined the Fishery Forum recently organized by the Surigao City Fish Buyers-Brokers Association (SUCFIBBA Inc.)

BFAR Caraga OIC-Regional Director Nilo Selim Katada talked on the fishery industry and supply of marine products, as well as the updates of relevant fishery laws, rules and regulations, and its impact to the sector.

Dr. Katada also discussed the challenges and opportunities of the fishing industry particularly in the province of Surigao del Norte, and on how the government agencies can collaborate for the market linkages in all of the fishery sector to ensure continuous supply of safe and affordable food fish in the market.

The forum was also attended by the city government of Surigao through City Administrator Atty. Jerry R. Centro and Acting City Agriculturist Hayde S. Villalba together with PLtCol. Mario Crisitino A. Lucero of the PNP-Maritime Police. (DA-BFAR Caraga/VLG.PIA-Surigao del Norte)
