Youth org takes step for new milestone in Caraga 

BUTUAN CITY - The Propelling Our Inherited Nation Through our Youth Incorporated (POINTY Inc.) and the 15th Regional Community Defense Group, Army Reserve Command (15RCDG, ARESCOM) conducted a formal signing of Memorandum of Understanding at 15RCDG, Brgy. Bancasi, Butuan City on July 17, 2021. 

The activity's objective is to strengthen the partnership of POINTY and 15RCDG in pursuit of lasting peace and sustainable development in the region of Caraga through youth lead initiatives. 


15RCDG Group Commander Col. Diosdado Peji, 15RCDG Executive Officer LTC Joseph Bugaoan, 15RCDG operations officer Maj. Frances Belarmino, chairman of the Board of Trustees of POINTY Inc. Mr. Roberto Laurente, Jr., POINTY Inc. Central Office President Engr. Christian Kier M. Betito and, the Directors and Chief Clerks of the four Community Defense Centers in the Caraga region attended the said event. 


"With our mandated mission and your vision, together we can create something more than a legacy," said LTC Bagaoan on his welcome address. 


Engr. Christian Kier M. Betito, COO President of POINTY Inc. expressed his gratitude to the 15RCDG for granting the organization a haven for planning and sustainment of peace and development activities, and a place where they can call home. "During the pandemic there is no certainty that the recruitment of the youth to join the armed struggle have stopped," he said.


Betito then empowered the youth leaders of POINTY Inc. to continue the advocacy despite challenges they come up against. 


Meanwhile, Peji expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organization for initiating such a momentous signing memorandum of understanding. He emphasized that we cannot win the war through armed struggle, but by subduing the enemies to win peace. "The only way to find peace is through understanding," he added. (POINTY, Inc./PIA-Caraga)
