DOLE, DAR turn over livelihood project for Magallanes fisherfolk

BUTUAN CITY -- Taod-oy Farmers Livelihood Association (TFLA), one of the agrarian groups assisted by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Agusan del Norte took a big step forward for their Bangus Production Project as they received the raw materials, tools, and equipment, which was funded under the Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood Program (DOLE-ILP), on June 16, 2021.

A total of P581,385.00 comprised of raw materials, tools, and equipment was finally turned over through the barangay local government unit of Brgy. Taod-oy and handed over to the said agrarian group.

DOLE Caraga Provincial Head Keith C. Duran was delighted for another milestone of the group, with the convergence effort of the DAR, and local government unit of Barangay Taod-oy of Magallanes town.

He lauded the untiring support from said stakeholders to realize its common goal, which aimed to ensure the productivity and income of the fisher folks in the area.

DAR Agusan del Norte head Andre B. Atega is happy to see the development project which could provide income to the agrarian reform beneficiaries and livelihood to the locals.

“Through the partnership with the DAR and DOLE, the group’s proposed Bangus production project is now a dream come true to the group after it finally receives the materials and implements,” Atega said.

Chair Eleonor D. Galera, expressed gratitude to DOLE and DAR for their convergence initiatives for the release of the equipment to their association.

"This will be a great help for our members, especially those members involve in bangus production," Gallera added. (Gil E. Miranda, DAR Agusan del Norte/PIA Agusan del Norte)
