POPCOM-13 holds reproductive health orientation among SSCT studes, teachers

By POPCOM Caraga

BUTUAN CITY, June 10 -- The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) Caraga will enhance the skills among teachers and students of Surigao State College of Technology (SSCT) on making responsible choices, pertaining to their reproductive health through a wholesome development strategy.

POPCOM Caraga maintains its focus on the development of today's young generation despite the current health crisis by leading an online training for SSCT teachers and students on June 10 using its Adolescent Health and Development Program communication module known as Sexually Healthy and Personally Effective or SHAPE.

The SSCT teachers and students will be part of the daylong online orientation in which they will increase their awareness and understanding of adolescent and youth development and help them avoid teenage pregnancy.

Participants will hear messages from Maria Fe Guerra, director of the Student Affairs Office, and POPCOM Caraga regional director Alexander A. Makinano.

POPCOM Caraga Information Officer II and focal person of the Adolescent Health and Development Program Angelita B. Antonio, together with Information Officer I May Ann Escobal, will preside over the Sexually Healthy and Personally Effective (SHAPE) module training.

The Commission has put up a yearlong lineup of various events and initiatives in partnership with different institutions and for local government units in the development of adolescents and youth across the region. (POPCOM Caraga/PIA Surigao del Norte)
