SAP Bong Go to grace 58th Araw ng Surigao del Sur fete

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, June 13 – Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go is going to be the guest of honor and speaker during the kick-off rites of the 58th Araw ng Surigao del Sur on June 15, 2018.

In an interview over Radyo Pilipinas, Gov. Vicente “BB Pimentel, Jr. said “SAP Bong Go was eyed to grace the occasion since he could always be of help to the province aside from being close to President Rodrigo Duterte.”

The governor indicated that Surigao del Sur still needed a lot of support in terms of development.  

With the theme “Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development Towards a Vibrant Economy,” Gov. Pimentel also called on everyone to join the entire duration of the five-day affair especially during the opening program that would take place at the Tandag City Gymnasium.

Negosyo Center Bayugan trains BuB cooperators on BEST Game

BAYUGAN CITY, Agusan del Sur, June 13 – The Negosyo Center (NC) here has recently trained some 45 beneficiaries of Bottom-up-Budgeting (BUB) on entrepreneurship using Business Expense Saving Training (BEST) Game. 

The training was aimed to equip the participants on the right attitude, system to use, proper planning and know the right people to tap and hire for business.

The said participants are managing BuB projects on Furniture Shop and Metal Craft.

Tagalog News: Mahigit P32-M na illegally-cut forest products ang naitala ng DENR sa Caraga Region

LUNGSOD NG BUTUAN, Hunyo 13 (PIA) - Nasa mahigit P32-M na halaga ng confiscated illegal forest products ang naitala ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga mula Abril 14-15 at Abril 18-20, 2018.

Kasabay sa selebrasyon ng World Environment Day, ibinahagi rin ni DENR-Caraga regional director Atty. Felix Alicer ang kanilang mga naging aksyon o tugon sa problema sa illegal logging.

Base sa datus ng DENR, may 12 wood processing plants ang nadismantle o napadlock ng ahensya dahil sa hindi pagsunod sa alituntunin ng pagtotroso. Napag-alaman din na may 53 insidente ng pagkonspiska ng mga illegal logs ang naisagawa ng ahensya.

Nasa mahigit anim na libong cubic meters ng illegal logs ang nakompiska at mahigit dalawang-daang libong board feet ng lumber/flitches at sticks ang nasabat ng ahensya. Umabot rin sa 117 paraphernalia/implements na ginagamit sa illegal logging ang nakompiska.

Dagdag pa ni Dir. Alicer, ang mga CENROs at PENROs ng rehiyon, kasama ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ay patuloy na nagsasagawa ng monitoring and assessment sa mga lugar na tapat na pinapatupad ang mga batas pangkalikasan at ordinansa bilang suporta sa solid waste management.

Ayon naman kay Engr. Wilson Trajeco, ang regional director ng Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Caraga, may ilan-ilan na rin silang na-issuehan ng notice of violation sa ibat-ibang establishments ng rehiyon. Dumadaan umano ito sa due process at binibigyan ng 60 days para magcomply at kapag hindi pa rin inaksyunan, maaring mahaharap na sa kaso ang akusado.

Nanawagan din si Dir. Trajeco sa mga residente na naninirahan malapit sa mga tourism establishments na maging responsible sa kanilang sanitation at nang maiwasang makasira sa kalikasan, na magdudulot din ng masamang epekto sa turismo. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)

Tagalog News: IPs sa Agusan del Sur nakiisa sa selebrasyon ng Araw ng Kalayaan at Naliyagan Festival

AGUSAN DEL SUR, Hunyo 13 (PIA) - Nakiisa ang mga Indigenous Peoples (IPs) na nanggaling pa sa ibat-ibang bahagi ng probinsya ng Agusan del Sur sa selebrasyon ng ika-120th Kalayaan ng bansa, at sa pasimulang pagbubukas ng Naliyagan Festival 2018 na ginanap sa Datu Lipus Makapandong Cultural Center.

Bilang pasimulang aktibidad sa Naliyagan Festival, nagsagawa ang mga IPs ng isang ritwal ng pag-aalay para sa matiwasay at kagandahan ng pamumuhay sa probinsya ng agusan del sur at ito ay tinatawag nilang 'Panawagtawag.' 

Ayon kay Agusan del Sur Governor Adolph Edward Plaza, ang Naliyagan Festival ay taonang selebrasyon na nagsisimula sa Hunyo 12 hanggang 17 na puno ng makabuluhang aktibidad para sa mga Agusanons at Caraganons.

Dagdag pa ni Gov. Plaza, “The chosen one or the most loved” o pinakamamahal ang ipinahihiwatig ng Naliyagan Festival. Pinapakita nito ang kahalagahan ng mga IPs sa komunidad, maging ng kanilang ritwal, kultura at tradisyon, at mga produktong sila mismo ang gumawa.

Ibinahagi naman ni Congresswoman Valentina Plaza ng unang distrito ng Agusan del Sur, na binibigyang halaga ng gobyerno ang kapakanan ng mga ips bilang suporta rin sa mandato ni President Rodrigo Duterte.

Binigyang-diin naman ni Nilo Manpatilan, provincial IP focal person ng Agusan del Sur, na sinusuportahan nila ang gobyerno at umaasa silang patuloy din ang pagbibigay serbisyo nito sa kanilang sektor. Ang pagbibigay halaga naman sa kanilang mga karapatan bilang IP umano ang kanilang hiling mula sa publiko.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Brigadier General Andres Centino, commander ng 401st brigade, Philippine Army, na may naka-deploy silang AFP personnel sa mga strategic areas ng probinsya upang masegurong payapa at ligtas ang mga dumadayo sa lugar para sa Naliyagan Festival. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
