43 Caraga cops dismissed from service

BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 13 – Amid the intensified efforts of Caraga police to clean its ranks, 43 cops were dismissed from the uniformed service from January 1 to November 9, 2017.

The dismissed policemen were found guilty for grave misconduct, grave insubordination, serious neglect of duty and grave neglect of duty.

“This is part of our ongoing internal cleansing efforts to instill discipline and build ethics among our ranks. We need cops who are true to their sworn duties and committed to render quality police services,” Police Regional Office (PRO13) Regional Director PCSupt. Rolando Felix emphasized.

In 2016, series of random drug tests were conducted to the uniformed personnel assigned to regional headquarters, police provincial offices, public safety forces and police stations in Caraga. Those who were found positive for the use of illegal drugs were charged administratively for grave misconduct.

The penalty of dismissal, which resulted in the separation from the service, shall carry with it the cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits and disqualification for reemployment in the government service. (PRO-13/PIA-Caraga)
