BSP to hold coin exchange caravan in Butuan City

BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 24 (PIA) – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)-Butuan City will spearhead the Coin Exchange Caravan on December 20, 2017 at Robinsons Place, this city.

Glizriel Rose Zarate, senior research specialist of BSP-Butuan City encouraged all government agencies and partner stakeholders to support and participate in the said event.

Zarate further called on the public to gather and prepare all their coins and bring it to them during the coin exchange caravan, in exchange of crisp brand new banknotes.

"We encourage the general public to bring their coins during the coin exchange caravan and we will exchange it with new banknotes," she said.

“We also enjoin those who have PisoNet business in the different barangays, as well as in the religious sector to participate in this caravan,” she added.

Zarate also revealed that BSP will soon be selling commemorative coins, featuring national heroes, in exchange of coins of specific value. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)


DepEd-AgNor to receive P28.8-M worth of school repair, rehabilitation project

BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 24 - The Department of Education (DepEd) Agusan del Norte Division is set to receive a total amount of P28.8 million worth of school repair and rehabilitation project as part of the proposed budget of the Congress, amounting to P126.3 billion allocation for basic education facilities program.

This will also be used for site validation and engineering overhead expenses, electrification of on-grid sites and acquisition of school furniture.

DepEd targets the construction of almost 47,000 classrooms in 2018, procurement of more than 81,000 school sets and electrification of more than 2,398 schools.

The DepEd Agusan del Norte Division has already identified the tentative list of 21 schools with 80 major repairs from 19 different districts of said province.

In an interview, DepEd Agusan del Norte Division Engineer Shelemiah C. Gata said that the project aims to repair all old classrooms with major repairs according to National School Building Inventory (NSBI).

“The repair includes common works such as roofing works, carpentry (doors, windows, and ceiling), electrical, masonry (partition walls and plastering), concreting (flooring), and painting works,” she added.

Meanwhile, identified schools are as follows: Cervantina Elementary School, Cubi Cubi Elementary School, Aclan Elementary School, Camagong Elementary School, Manapa I Elementary School, Kabalalahan Elementary School, San Vicente Elementary School, Bangonay Central Elementary School, Magsaysay Elementary School, RAM Elementary School, Baleguian Elementary School, Cuyago Elementary School, Kitcharao Central Elementary School, Magallanes Central Elementary School, Santiago Central Elementary School, Lingayao Elementary School, Mat I CES, Ibuan Elementary School, Agyabao Elementary School, Bonifacio Elementary School, and Las Nieves Central Elementary School.

PRO-13 starts screening of promotable personnel

BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 24 – The promotion board of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 has started the screening process of the Police Commissioned Officers and non-commissioned officers to fill up the quota for the ranks of Police Officer 2 to Police Chief Inspector.

PRO-13 was authorized by the national headquarters to fill 621 promotional slots: two for Police Chief Inspector; 22 for Police Senior Inspector; 61 for Police Inspector; nine for Senior Police Officer (SPO) 4; 151 for SPO3; 52 for SPO2; 182 for SPO1; 89 for Police Officer (PO) 3; and 53 for PO2 ranks.

The promotional process includes the screening of documentary requirements and the actual interview of the applicants, neuro-psychiatric exam and drug test.

PRO-13 Regional Director PCSupt. Noli Romana said that the PNP regular promotion program will boost the morale and welfare of every personnel and aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization by promoting the safety and security of all Caraganons.

Caraga police on full alert during Yuletide season

BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 24 – “The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 will be on full alert status to provide maximum security coverage and intensify anti-crime campaign during the Yuletide season,” said PCSupt. Noli Romana, PRO 13 Regional Director.

“We will intensify all police operations and will use all our resources and manpower just to make sure that the holidays will be peaceful and safe,” Romana added.

More police officers will be deployed to churches, malls, ports, terminals and other places of convergence as the influx of people is expected to increase.

Aside from the deployed PNP personnel regionwide, territorial police units will also tap force multipliers like the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and other stakeholders to ensure public safety.


“We will also work hand in hand with the Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Local Government Units (LGUs) and other government agencies to minimize, if not to stop firecracker-related incidents in Caraga during the celebration,” Romana added. (PNP-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
