44 couples to wed in mass civil wedding in Butuan
City

BUTUAN CITY, Feb. 11 (PIA) – A total of 44 couples
will celebrate the Valentine’s Day with proclamation of their love and the
sealing of their union in a mass civil wedding ceremony initiated by the City
Civil Registrar’s office of Butuan City to be held at Luciana Convention Center
on February 12, 2015 at 8 o’clock in the morning.
According to City Civil Registrar Judith Calo, the
couples are composed of live in partners who have cohabited within or for more
than five years already.
They will be joined in matrimony in a ceremony led
by Butuan City Mayor Ferdinand M. Amante Jr. as solemnizing officer in the
presence of two witnesses or Godparents for each couple and the couple’s
parents.
Calo revealed that, except for their wedding
attires, the couples spent nothing for the wedding as the registration fee was
not collected while expenses for food for six people per couple and the wedding
cake were shouldered by the city government.
The mass civil wedding is the highlight of the
Civil registration Month celebration in the month of February.
Calo also disclosed that the City Civil Registrars
Office is offering free birth registration for the whole month of February. (Radyo

Dinagat Islands land use committee reviews CLUP

SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands, Feb. 11 (PIA) – The
members of the Provincial Land Use Committee (PLUC) here recently conducted a
re-orientation meeting on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) held at the
Provincial Guest Center, Capitol Compound, this province.
The committee discussed on the preparation and the
role of every committee members in reviewing CLUP which was presented by Mr.
Harvey Villegas from Housing & Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) of Cagayan
de Oro City.

Foronda during the meeting explained the rationale of the activity.
Engr. Faronda said that in 2008 the PLUC had
already constituted but unfortunately, the province became defunct.
“So with the new administration, we have to
constitute the PLUC again because of their critical role in the review of CLUPs
in the municipalities," Foronda said.
The CLUP is a tool used to implement the proper
land segregation in the province either it is agricultural, industrial,
residential, or mineral reserved.
The PLUC committee is composed of the Department
of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Agrarian Reform
(DAR), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), Department
of Public Works and Highway (DPWH), Provincial Agriculture (PAG), and other

Evacuation Center phase 1 construction 99%
completed, phase 2 ongoing

BUTUAN CITY, Feb. 11 (PIA) - The City Engineer’s
Office (CEO) here revealed that it has completed 99 percent of the Phase I of
the construction of an evacuation center located at Barangay Bancasi, this
city.
In an interview, City Engineer Lorden G. Vismanos
said the Phase I, comprising of the first floor of a two storey building, is
funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) which donated
ten million pesos (10,000,000.00) to the project.
Vismanos further revealed that the completion of
the second floor of the building is still ongoing which is funded by a five
million peso (P5,000,000.00) counterpart of the city government.
Vismanos also disclosed that the building, which
sits on an eight hectare lot, can accommodate up to 150 families.
Meanwhile, Vismanos also said that this year 2015,
the city government plans to construct a Response, Rehabilitation and Development
Center for victims of disasters and calamities and a Women’s Production Center

Turn-over rites for DepEd high post in SurSur set
today

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Norte, Feb. 11 (PIA) –
The Department of Education (DepEd) in Surigao del Sur is set to hold today the
turn-over ceremony for the Schools Division Superintendent here.
Dr. Marilou Dedumo, incoming schools division
superintendent is going to take the place of Dr. Teofila Cabatuan, outgoing
schools division superintendent.
Based on the official program, the event is going
to start at 9:00 a.m. at the Shacene Grand Ballroom, this city.
During the occasion, both the outgoing and
incoming officials are going to render their respective speeches in connection
with the turn-over and acceptance of responsibility.
Governor Johnny Pimentel is also set to give his
message.
After the turn-over ceremony and welcome program,

rehiyon sa Caraga para sa key bio-diversity areas.
Ang proyekto nga gitagaan og prayoridad sa
