Slain rebels dragged by their comrades
CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City, Mar. 24
(PIA) - Soldiers from the Army’s 26th Infantry “Ever Onward” Battalion
encountered ten communist rebels at Sitio Nakadayas, Brgy Mahagsay, San Luis,
Agusan del Sur on March 19, 2014 at around 11:55 a.m.
Soldiers from 26th Infantry “Ever Onward”
Battalion conducted combat patrol following a military intelligence and
information provided by civilians in the area. The troops stormed the rebel
hideout near Adgaoan River and clashed with the rebels. Firefight lasted for
about ten minutes. Then, the troops did their best to scour all parts of the
rebel’s camp despite the bad weather condition and the strong current of the
river due to the heavy downpour of rains. This gave the rebels a chance to
escape and drag along with them their three killed comrades heading towards
west direction.
Said New People’s Army rebels were identified to
be members of Guerilla Front – 88, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee
operating in the hinterlands of Esperanza, San Luis and Lapaz all of Agusan del
Sur.
Major General Ricardo Visaya, commander 4ID
congratulated his troops who displayed their courageous act in combat.
"Let us inform our brothers and sisters that your army is here to render
their services for all filipino victim of NPA atrocities,” Visaya said.
Meanwhile, Colonel Gregory Cayetano, commander
of the army’s 401ST Infantry “Unity” Brigade, challeged all troops in the field
to continue their peace effort in coordination with the local populace in the
area. "Your strong determination shows that your dedication of service is
a distinct credit and honor for the Armed Forces of the Philippines and every
Filipino,” said Cayetano.
“We are always conducting long range combat
patrol to the barangays where the NPA rebels usually conduct extortion from
poor farmers and innocent civilians. So, to end these treacherous act of violences, we will ask the local
populace to support our operating troops by giving timely and exact information
about the presence of the armed rebels,” said Lieutenant Colonel Rolando Dumawa,
Commanding Officer, 26th Infantry “Ever Onward” Battalion. (4ID PA/PIA-Caraga)
AGUSAN DEL SUR, Marso 24, 2014 (PIA) - Handang
kaso.
Democratic Front (NDF) na nababalutan sila ng Joint Agreement on Safety and
the Peace Process Teresita Quintos-Deles. (PIA-Agusan del Sur)
Cebuano News: Gobyerno andam sa pagpanalipod sa
mga katawhan taliwala sa posibleng
pagpanimalos gikan sa CPP-NPA
SURIGAO DEL SUR, Marso 24 (PIA) - Ang Armadong
Kusog sa Pilipinas kon Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) andam sa
niadtong Sabado.
"Kami sa kanunay nahibalo, ug nakabalo sa
posibleng pag atake, ug ang atong
armadong kusog kanunay nga andam sa pagpanalipod sa mga katawhan,” (“We are
always aware, fully aware of the possibility of retaliation, and our armed
forces are always ready to defend the population,”) kini ang gisulti ni
murder, multiple murder, ug frustrated murder.
CPP-NPA (New People’s Army) dinhi sa Pilipinas,” (“We’ve captured their
leadership, the top leadership at the very least, the Tiamzon couple, who are
heading the CPP-NPA (New People’s Army) here in the Philippines,”) sumala pa ni
on Safety and Immunity Guarantee (JASIG) diin ang gobyerno milagda uban ang
kaysa maulahi," (“We are always ready for talks to address a doable and
time-bound substantive agenda and we continue to hope to get to that point
sooner rather than later,”) matod pa ni Lacierda nga gikutlo kang Presidential
Adviser sa Peace Process Teresita Quintos-Deles (PND/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
