DOH-13 new RD to ensure functionality of health
facilities in the region

BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 15 (PIA) – In time with its
monthly conduct of media forum, the Department of Health (DOH) Caraga with its
new OIC-Regional Director Minerva Molon, assured that the department will do
its best to ensure the provision and functionality of health facilities in the
DOH-accredited hospitals in the provinces of Caraga region.
Molon also bared that as observed in its seven
Rural Health Units (RHus) in the region, needed number of Municipal Health
Officers is still to be completed while there are also health facilities that
are still waiting for the necessary equipment to be delivered at their
respective areas. She also said that the region needs more trained midwives
especially in the province of Dinagat Islands, among others.
“The department will be hiring graduates of any
health-related courses on a job-order status and they will be assigned in the
different rural health units to augment the number of presently employed in the
RHUs,” she said.
She further emphasized that she will personally
visit the DOH-accredited hospitals in the provinces to check, assess the status
of health facilities and to know what are the other infrastructures needed to
be established.
“I was tasked no less than our secretary of
health to upgrade the health facilities here. We will help other provinces in the
region that still need to enhance their facilities and we will work closely
with them,” emphasized Molon.
On the other hand, citing the updates on
medicines, the new director also reminds the public to buy drugs only from duly
licensed pharmacies and distributors. The wise use of drugs takes knowledge of
its uses for one to best benefit from it.
"When your doctor prescribes you your
medications, always ask for the Generic of the drug for you to benefit from the
program of the government while saving for yourself and your family," she
said.
Molon also assured that he department will
continue to inform the public on the updates of its programs and services.

Tagalog news: Mga kliyente ng DSWD makakuha ng
libreng tulong legal mula sa PAO

AGUSAN DEL SUR, Okt. 15 (PIA) - Ang Department
of Social Welfare and Development DSWD) at ang Public Attorney’s Office PAO) ay
gumawa noong isang linggo ng isang kasunduan na magbibigay ng libreng tulong
legal para sa mga kliyente ng DSWD.
Ang naturang kasunduan ay nilagdaan sa pagitan
nina DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Sooliman at Chief Public Attorney Persida
Acosta sa mismong tanggapan ng DSWD sa lunsod ng Quezon.
Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, ang PAO ay magbibigay ng
libreng tulong legal sa mga biktima ng domistikong karahasan, mga batang may
hidwaan sa batas (CICL), pag-ampon at iba pa.
Ang biktima ng domistikong karahasan ay maaring
makinabang ng serbisyo ng PAO sa pag tipon ng hiling/ petisyon para sa protection
order o kaya sibil na aksiyon para sa nasalanta.
At higit pa, ang PAO ay magbigay ng legal na
tulong sa CICL para sa mga sumusunod na pangyayari: Kung ang CICL ay nakakulong
o kaya kinuhaan ng kalayaan at nangangailangan ng agarang abugadong tagapayo,
at kung ang CICL ay nasa ilalim ng maingat na imbistigasyon na walang tulong
mula sa abugadong tagapayo.
Ang PAO ay hahawak lamang ng kasong pag-ampon
kung ang inaasahang mag-ampon ay siyang totoong magulang ng inaasahang aamponin
at ang mag ampon ay isang dukha.
Sinabi ni Secretary Soliman na ang samahang ito
ay magpatunay na ang karapatan ng mga babae at kabataan ay isinusulong at
itinataas, at dagadag pa nito, makakakuha sila ng hustisya na para sa kanila ng
walang bayad.
Ang nakataling proyektong ito ng DSWD at PAO ay
magkabisa sa loob ng isang taon simula sa Octobre 2013. (DMS/PIA-Agusan del
