BUTUAN CITY, June 4 (PIA) -- The Habitat for Humanity Incorporated here turned-over on Saturday the newly-constructed Multi-Purpose Hall in Christ the King, Ambago, this city where the senior citizens, young adults and children will gather together for their community activities.

Butuan Habitat for Humanity Inc. (BHFHI) President Mrs. Nora Rama, together with HFHP-Davao City Area Manager Atty. Jun-Jun Sawadjaaan; BHFHI Vice President Engr. Heddy Sumalpong; BHFHI Program Administrator Mr. Joseph Vicente BaΓ±ares; and BHFHI Board Member Mr. Santiago Tagapulot, led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting witnessed by the participants and residents at the said area.

“We are glad that finally our partners in the community here can now use this multi-purpose hall for good. With this, we hope to strengthen your working relationship as neighbors and do your activities peacefully,” said Rama.

Atty. Sawadjaaan also stressed that the main aim of the Habitat is to bring people together and to build houses in union for the unprivileged people in the community with partner-stakeholders.

"I will be back here in Butuan and with the Angelo King Foundation, we are committed to give more projects for the benefit of our people in the community here and even outside Butuan," he said.

Sawadjaaan further emphasized that the Habitat will also intensify disaster preparedness in the communities thru conducting trainings and providing necessary equipment. "We must see to it that we have close coordination with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, city government and other concerned agencies in times of calamity/disaster," he added.

CTK Home Owners Association thru its President Mr. Solomom Callano, received the ceremonial key from the BHFHI thru Vice President Engr. Sumalpong.

“Keys symbolize ownership, security, privacy and opportunity. With these keys in your hands, you can now say that you already have a house and a multi-purpose center you can call your own. From now on, you will take full control over your house and this multi-purpose center giving your family the security, privacy and comfort they need. Having been freed from the burden of homelessness, it is our fervent prayer that your lives will be filled with success and prosperity according to the fullness of God’s plan and intervention for you. Keep in mind that the ultimate owner of our lives and your house is God and we are only stewards of them. May God’s blessings be upon you and your home,” Sumalpong highlighted.
