It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Battle of the Bands and Modern Dance Competitions set in Tandag City

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, June 1 (PIA) -- In line with the forthcoming 53rd Araw ng Surigao del Sur weeklong celebration, Tandag City Tourism Office spearheaded the competitions for the Battle of the Bands and Modern Dance to be held at Vicente L. Pimentel Sr., Boulevard here.

The Battle of the Bands is set on June 18, while the Modern Dance Contest set on June 17 at 7 p.m., City Tourism Officer Florence Abis said.

Abis also said the following prizes await the winners of the Battle of Bands: total cash prize of P20,000 for 1st place; P12,000 for the second place; and non-winning teams will receive a consolation prize amounting to P5,000.

For Modern Dance Contest, the winners will receive the following: P7,000 cash for 1st place; P6,000 for second place; and P5,000 for third place. Consolation prize is P1,000.
