LGU Claver, Surigao del Norte brings Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program to vulnerable families

By Susil D. Ragas

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte (PIA) The local government of Claver, Surigao del Norte, recently distributed 10-kilogram rice aid to each beneficiary family in the barangays of Claver town under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program.

Funded under the Local Government Support Fund, the distribution aimed to enhance local food security by providing essential food staples directly to vulnerable or qualified families.

A total of 550 families across five barangays of the town received 10 kilograms of rice each. The number of recipients is broken down as follows: Barangay Hayanggabon, 150 families; Panatao, 150 families; Bagakay, 100 families; Tayaga, 100 families; and Magallanes, 50 families.

Nanay Flora, a resident of Barangay Hayanggabon, expressed gratitude for PBBM’s rice program.

(I am expressing heartfelt gratitude to the national government and to President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. for the 10 kilos of rice that we received. This is a big help to our family, especially at this time. Because of this blessing, it lessened our daily expenses on food and ensured that there is enough food on the table for our family. Thank you for the help and for looking into the needs of the people. We hope that this program will continue to help more Filipino families.)

The local government of Claver, under the leadership of Mayor Georgia D. Gokiangkee, is also grateful to the provincial government of Surigao del Norte for its ongoing support and partnership with the national government, making it possible for government support to reach Clavernon families and communities.
