BUTUAN CITY (PIA) —  The provincial government of Agusan del Norte, under the leadership of Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, deployed Incident Management Team (IMT) members and emergency responders to support the 66th Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur from May 24 to 31, 2026.

The deployment, facilitated through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), aims to strengthen inter-agency coordination, emergency preparedness, and public safety as delegations from different regions across the country started arriving in the host province for the weeklong national sporting event.

Governor Amante emphasized the importance of preparedness and teamwork in ensuring the safety and welfare of athletes, delegates, officials, and spectators.

“Our responders carry not only their equipment and skills, but also the trust and confidence of the people of Agusan del Norte. Their dedication and professionalism reflect our province’s commitment to public safety and service,” Amante said.

Agusan del Norte PDRRM Office chief Erma Suyo said the responders are prepared to assist in incident monitoring, emergency communication, medical response, and disaster risk management operations throughout the conduct of the event.

“Our responders are ready to serve and work closely with the host province and partner agencies to maintain safety, order, and preparedness throughout the Palarong Pambansa. This deployment reflects the commitment of Agusan del Norte to resilient and disaster-ready communities,” Suyo said.

With a mandate from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the first and second batches of IMT members and responders have already been deployed to Agusan del Sur as part of the province’s continuing support to the 66th Palarong Pambansa and its efforts to strengthen disaster resilience and inter-agency collaboration in Caraga.
