LGU reinforces faith, values formation for Agusan Sur graduating students

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur (PIA)  Recollection is an important part of a high school student’s journey, helping them reflect on past experiences, reassess life choices, and prepare for a new chapter in their lives.

Sta. Irene National High School (SINHS) Grade 12 students underwent a recollection facilitated by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) through its Moral Recovery and Values Formation Services (MRVFS) at the San Gaspar Hall, San Roque Parish in Sta. Irene, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, on February 10.

Teacher Jeryllin Aprovichar of Grade 12–Aristotle thanked the PGAS-MRVFS for initiating the recollection and for the spiritual lessons imparted to the graduating students. She also thanked the parents who actively participated in the activity.

“Some might say that education is the best legacy we can leave to our children, but that is only secondary; the very best is faith in God. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have this MRVFS recollection. It is truly a great blessing,” she said.

According to her, the recollection touched the hearts of the students and the parents. “We were reminded that our children are gifts from God. This kind of activity is a big help and a blessing for both parents and our children.”

The activity fostered meaningful moments of reflection, learning, and positive engagement among the students. Despite having different religious affiliation, the participants were united through the PGAS-MRVFS, without discrimination, and were welcomed as one community.

“I have mixed emotions—happiness and, at the same time, sadness,” said Archie A. Boco, Grade 12–Newton and Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) vice president.

“However, the most important lesson I learned is to enjoy every moment with your family, cherish every moment, and say thank you, I love you, and I’m sorry—even if these are difficult to express. Be open. I am truly grateful for this opportunity to reflect and to be reminded to be thankful, always” he added.

The recollection highlighted the PGAS’s continued commitment to nurturing the moral and spiritual well-being of youth, preparing them to face life’s challenges with strong values, faith, and a sense of responsibility as they move ahead to adulthood. (KKRG, PIA Agusan del Sur)
