FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

PNP-Agusan Sur, LGU Sta. Josefa open new building to cater women and children concerns

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- The Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) led the turnover ceremony of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) Building in Sta. Josefa Municipal Police Station (MPS), marking a significant achievement in ensuring better service and protection for women and children in the community.

Also witnessed the said event include Police Colonel (PCol.) Yahya Bustamante Yusup, provincial director, represented by Police Lieutenant Colonel (PLtCol.) Bonifacio C. Estrella, Jr., deputy provincial director for administration, with Police Captain (PCpt.) Renlyn P. Arroza, provincial WCPD officer, with the presence of Symond O. Caguiat, municipal mayor of Sta.Josefa.

The event commenced with an opening prayer led by Pastor Joevic G. Sabado, invoking blessings and guidance for the continued success of the WCPD’s mission and its positive impact in the community.

In his welcome remarks, Police Major (PMaj.) Mikhail M. Delos Reyes, officer-in-charge (OIC) of Sta. Josefa MPS, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, partners, and the local government unit (LGU) of Sta. Josefa for their unwavering support in realizing this vital project to strengthen the protection and well-being of our women and children.

Following this, PLtCol. Estrella also emphasized the importance of the WCPD’s role in providing essential services to those who need them the most.

"With this new facility, we are taking a step closer to creating a safer community for everyone," he said.

He also acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the people behind the success of the project, and the unwavering and invaluable support of the LGU-Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur.
