FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

Graduates in virtual assistance honored in Hinatuan, Surigao Sur

HINATUAN, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- A brighter future awaits the newly trained virtual professionals of Hinatuan, as the graduates of the Virtual Assistant Training under the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) Strengthening of the Philippine Workforce through Adaptive and Responsive Digital Knowledge (SPARK) program celebrated their commencement in a graduation ceremony.

In partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hinatuan, the SPARK training aimed to equip participants with in-demand digital skills for virtual assistance, empowering them to access remote job opportunities and become part of the global digital workforce.

Local officials led by Municipal Mayor Tito Canedo III were present to show their full support for the initiative. Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Anthony Joseph CaƱedo attended the event and delivered an inspirational message, encouraging the graduates to embrace innovation and make meaningful contributions to the local economy.

The presence of DICT officials highlighted the agency’s unwavering commitment to digital inclusion and local capacity building. Their support reflects the national government’s broader vision of enhancing employability and promoting inclusive digital transformation across communities.

Graduates both expressed their deep appreciation to DICT and LGU Hinatuan for the life-changing opportunity, citing how the training broadened their career prospects and equipped them with valuable tools for success in the online job market.
