DOLE, local employment offices strengthen partnership to boost job facilitation in Caraga for year 2025
BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga and the local government units through its Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) have strengthened partnership to enhance employment facilitation programs for the year 2025.
On the first day of the Year-End Performance Assessment (YEPA), held at Almont Inland Hotel, the 2024 accomplishments of the PESOs were presented including the challenges in implementing employment facilitation programs. After which, a strategic planning was done focusing on identification of doable strategies to improve delivery of employment services across the region.
The discussions also focused on analyzing labor market trends, identifying priority sectors for job creation, and formulating innovative employment programs aimed at addressing the specific employment needs of local communities.
The activity also provided a valuable opportunity for PESO managers and focal persons to collaborate, exchange ideas, and plan for a more impactful year ahead.
DOLE Regional Director Jason P. Balais expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the strong partnership and collaboration with PESO, highlighting the critical role PESO plays as an extension of DOLE in reaching even the most remote municipalities.
“People on the ground feel our [DOLE] presence because of you,” Dir. Balais emphasized.
“The success we’ve experienced over the last several years is due to our partnership with DOLE and PESO. At DOLE, we can confidently say that our programs are reaching the farthest municipalities because of your efforts in PESO. We rely on you to help us bring government assistance to communities that need it most, especially in labor and employment,” Dir. Balais added.
During the event, the PESOMAP for Mindanao also provided a financial grant of P65,000 to the Public Employment Service Office Managers Association of the Philippines (PESOMAP) Inc. Caraga Federation to support the federation's programs and activities.
The PESO-YEPA activity will continue with the PESO Awards Night on February 5, and conclude another meeting session on February 6. (DOLE Caraga/PIA Caraga)
