Gov't workers in Agusan Sur strengthen on moral recovery, values formation

By: Kelvin Kennt R. Generalo

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur --- The Moral Recovery and Values Formation (MRVF) services under the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) conducted an office visitation at the Provincial Public Information Office (PPIO) as part of their program to set the tone for the PGAS offices in providing spiritual enhancement throughout the year on January 16.

Employees of the PPIO, along with Senior High School students from Patin-ay National High School and Agusan del Sur Provincial High School who are in immersion, as well as personnel from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Agusan del Sur Government Information Center, attended the one-hour session.

“It is important for us, government workers, to have faith in God while serving the public, through it we can honestly give them the right service they need,” said Melvin Hilot, MRVF facilitator.

The participants appreciated and actively shared their learnings and insights in the one-hour visitation.

“Through this activity we are able to understand our co-workers’ experiences and be with them in times of trials and difficulties,” said Jummy G. Lumania, administrative aide III of the PPIO.

“Believing in God is one thing that we can hold on to for us to survive and do our daily task as public servants,” he added.

PPIO Department Head PJ Dela PeΓ±a also expressed his gratitude for the MRVF's visit.

"I appreciate and thank you for the time and effort you have given us as we begin 2025 with spiritual nourishment," he said.

The entire one-hour office visitation is a testament of PGAS dedication in cultivating a culture of integrity and ethical conduct. Through inspirational talk, group activities, and shared experiences employees were reminded of the shared responsibility to uphold values.

As this initiative continues, it serves as a beacon of hope for the future where values-based drives progress and positive change. This initiative also aimed to instill core values among employees, foster a culture of integrity, and strengthen workplace harmony.

MRVF is an office of the PGAS that advocates on the moral and spiritual aspect to uplift and strengthen the preservation of values of the citizens that are essential in holistic nation-building.

Also,  the office works to inculcate the moral values that are necessary in this changing and challenging times; to learn the process on how to avail the programs in the province; to strengthen and restore the personal relationship to the Higher Power; to develop a sense of unity by working collaboratively to address issues concerning the rights of women and children; to support the advocacy to help the others not to engage in any form of bad habits; and to increase awareness on the harmful effects on substance use and the impact on the family through moral and spiritual intervention.
