PMO Surigao welcomes new year with spiritual reflection

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- As an expression of faith and public service, the Port Management Office (PMO) of Surigao gathered its workforce for a meaningful Thanksgiving Mass on January 10, setting an inspirational tone for the new year.

The sacred celebration, held at the PMO's Gender and Development (GAD) center, brought together PMO officials and employees in a moment of spiritual communion and reflection. Reverend Father Mark Tiu of the Diocese of Surigao presided over the Holy Eucharist, which was organized through the dedicated efforts of the PMO's Office of the Port Manager.

"This celebration serves as both our expression of gratitude for the year's blessings and our way of seeking divine guidance as we face the challenges and opportunities of the coming year," shared Ardell Arana, executive assistant to the port manager.

During his homily, Fr. Tiu emphasized the importance of gratitude and spiritual preparation in public service. He reminded the congregation that their work at the port serves not just operational efficiency but also the broader community's well-being.

The mass featured participation from various PMO divisions, with employees taking active roles in the liturgical celebration. The ceremony included special prayers for the port's continued safe operations, the well-being of maritime stakeholders, and the prosperity of Surigao's shipping industry.
