DICT-13 orients Dinagat town with eLGU, eGOV

LORETO, Dinagat Islands - The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Caraga conducted an orientation session on the electronic Local Government Unit (eLGU) system and the eGovPH App at the Loreto Municipal Hall on December 18.

The activity was attended by 16 LGU personnel aimed to familiarize participants with the benefits and functionalities of these digital platforms.

The orientation provided an overview of the eLGU system, which streamlines government transactions such as permits and clearances, and the eGOV services, designed to enhance citizen access to essential online government services. This initiative is aligned with DICT's mission to empower LGUs with innovative tools for efficient and transparent public service delivery.

Through this hands-on orientation, DICT Caraga equipped Loreto’s LGU personnel with the knowledge to integrate these systems into their operations. The session featured discussions on the platforms' technical aspects, benefits for local governance, and steps for implementation.

“We are truly excited about the automation that eLGU will bring to our municipality, as well as the ease of doing business that the eGovPH App offers to our clients here in Loreto. We deeply appreciate the efforts made by DICT and its personnel,” Municipal Administrative Officer Joy B. Gonzales said.

DICT Caraga remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering digital transformation in local government units across the region. By conducting similar orientations and training, the department continues to support its vision of a digitally empowered Philippines. (DICT Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
