Over P1M worth of shabu seized in Lianga, Surigao Sur

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur --  The Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO), under the leadership of Provincial Director Harry B. Domingo, successfully arrested two high-valued individuals (HVIs) and seized illegal drugs worth over P1 million in a buy-bust operation conducted on December 3, 2024.  

The operation, executed at around 9:14 AM at Purok 5, Barangay Ganayon, Lianga, Surigao del Sur, resulted in the confiscation of 150 grams of suspected shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P1,020,000.  

Details of the Arrest

Based on the report, PCol. Domingo bared that the suspects were identified as:  

- Archie Boquecosa Alpuerto, 44, a painter, resident of Purok Kalipayan, Barangay Bungtod, Tandag City.  

-  Juvan Suarez Duero, 38, a carpenter at the Provincial Engineering Office, resident of Purok Palmera, Barangay Mabua, Tandag City.  

Seized Items

The report said, aside from the illegal drugs, the authorities recovered:  

- A .45 caliber pistol with serial number BT09992160, loaded with six bullets.  

- An M1911A1 .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing seven bullets.  

The search, inventory, and marking of confiscated items were conducted in the presence of witnesses, including the punong barangay of Ganayon, representative from the Department of Justice, and media personnel.

PCol. Domingo emphasized the unwavering commitment of the police force in combating illegal drugs, “Our relentless police operations against illegal drugs are nonstop, and these accomplishments remind us that lawlessness has no place here in our province. With the help of our community, our campaign against criminality will be intensified, he said.  

Post-Operation Procedure

The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights under the Miranda Warning and the Anti-Torture Act. Both are now in the custody of the Lianga Municipal Police Station, along with the seized evidence, for proper documentation and filing of charges.
