TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- The community of Barangay Maglambing in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur marked a major infrastructure milestone with the turnover of a newly completed drainage canal under the Kalahi CIDSS – National Community-Driven Development Program (KC-NCDDP) Additional Financing (AF) Phase 2 initiative.

Valued at P564,651, the project was officially handed over to the community on November 7, as part of the ongoing efforts to improve flood control and sanitation. This vital development was made possible through collaboration between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tagbina, led by Mayor Glaiza Jane “Galay” Polizon-Lanete.

The new drainage canal is expected to significantly enhance flood management in the community of Barangay Maglambing, reducing the risk of water-logging during heavy rains and improving overall sanitation in the area.

Mayor Polizon-Lanete emphasized that the project reflects the administration's commitment to providing sustainable, community-driven solutions to daily challenges faced by residents. With improved flood control and sanitation, the project promises to create a safer and healthier environment for the community.
