Over 2K agrarian reform beneficiaries receive land titles from DAR

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- More than 2,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB) in the provinces of Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Sur received electronic titles (E-titles) and Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Caraga on November 12, marking a significant step towards secure land ownership for the region's farmers.

The distribution ceremony, held at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Cultural Center in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, was led by DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Rowena Niña Taduran.

A total of 2,048 ARBs in Agusan del Sur, representing 13 municipalities and a city, benefited from the distribution and received 361 e-titles covering 3,290 hectares of agricultural land.

For Surigao del Sur, 426 ARBs from the municipalities of Bayabas, Cantilan, Hinatuan, Lianga, Lingig, Madrid, San Miguel, Tagbina, Tago, and Bislig City received 470 e-titles covering 784.74 hectares.

Additionally, six CLOAs were distributed to beneficiaries from Carascal and Hinatuan.

The issuance of CLOAs and e-titles formally recognized and granted the ARBs the right to own their land, fulfilling a long-held dream for many.

This initiative is expected to have a profound impact on land tenure security for ARBs, providing them with a tangible and legal claim to their property. (PPIO-Agusan del Sur/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
